弗拉基米爾·納博科夫(俄:Владимир Владимирович Набоков;英:Vladimir Vladimirovich Nabokov)(1899年4月23日 -- 1977年7月2日)是一名俄裔美籍作家,1899年出生於俄羅斯聖彼得堡。他在美國創作了他的文學作品《洛麗塔》,但真正使他成為一個著名散文家的是他用英語寫出的作品。他同樣也在昆蟲學、象棋等領域有所貢獻。
One of the twentieth century s master prose stylists, Vladimir Nabokov was born in St. Petersburg in 1899.
He studied French and Russian literature at Trinity College, Cambridge, then lived in Berlin and Paris, where he launched a brilliant literary career.
In 1940 he moved to the United States, and achieved renown as a novelist, poet, critic and translator.
He taught literature at Wellesley, Stanford, Cornell, and Harvard. In 1961 he moved to Montreux, Switzerland, where he died in 1977.
Fredson Bowers is Linden Kent Professor of English, Emeritus, at the University of Virginia.
Simon Karlinsky is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the editor of "The Sexual Labyrinth of Nicolai Gogol "(1992) and "Anton Chekhov's Life and Thought "(1997).
